Guest: Risa Mei

From the recording booth to the mocap stage, Risa Mei has built a career around bringing characters to life in more ways than one. The Los Angeles-based performer works across voice acting, singing, motion capture, stage, and on-camera performance, with credits spanning some of the biggest names in anime and gaming.

Fans may recognize her work from Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero, Rurouni Kenshin, Sand Land, My Dress-Up Darling, My Senpai is Annoying, Shadows House, and Sing a Bit of Harmony. She’s known for roles including Sangonomiya Kokomi in Genshin Impact, Sajuna Inui in My Dress-Up Darling, Futaba Igarashi in My Senpai is Annoying, and Rum and Shirley in Shadows House.

And voice acting is only part of the story. Risa is also a multilingual singer with experience across pop, rock, jazz, musical theater, and classical music, plus motion capture experience that brings an entirely different side of character performance into the mix.

At MiraiCon, fans will get to hear about what it takes to jump between anime dubbing, gaming, vocals, and performance capture, and how those different worlds come together to create the characters we love.
